JOB DESCRIPTION: Police Officers enforce Federal laws and ensure DoD and NGA rules and regulations are followed. They provide for the protection of NGA personnel and assets by conducting entry control, internal patrols, limited investigative and dignitary protection, emergency response, and physical security. They also prepare accident, incident, and security violation reports, conduct interviews and briefings, and provide customer support services. They may also provide training services to include the development of comprehensive police-specific training, ensure the currency of existing curriculum, and establish standards for the training program. They must successfully complete an NGA accepted police academy within two years.

DUTIES:
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: NGA Protective Services - East is seeking highly motivated individuals to fill positions as Police Officers. The candidates may be required to successfully complete an Agency approved Basic Law Enforcement Academy. The candidates will be required to obtain and maintain certifications in First-Aid, CPR, and AED. Candidates will be required to achieve and maintain qualifications with Agency approved firearms. This position requires regular and recurring physical exertion to include long periods of standing and walking. Agility and dexterity to apprehend and detain suspects as necessary. Candidates will be trained on and must have the ability to wear CBRNE ensembles including respirator (gas mask) for prolonged periods. Additionally, this position may require the use of a computer for tasks such as E-Mail, PowerPoint, Excel, word processing for writing memorandums and incident/accident reports, and other journal and chronological log entries.
PERMANENT CHANGE IN STATION: Depending on funding availability, PCS expenses may be authorized by the hiring component.
