Detention Officer Requirements:
Be at least 21 years of age
Not have been arrested for a Class B Misdemeanor offense in the past 10 years, and have never been convicted of an offense of Class A Misdemeanor or any Felony, which includes a sentence of Deferred Adjudication.
Possess a valid Texas Driver’s License
High school diploma or GED
Complete a language skill and reading comprehension test
Have not been discharged from any military service under less than honorable conditions including specifically:
Under other than honorable conditions
Bad conduct
Dishonorable
any other characterization of service indicating bad character

Detention Officer: Begins $14.773/hr
Detention Corporal: Begins $18.277/hr
Detention Sergeant: Begins $46,452/yr

Detention Captain: Begins $63,346/yr

Incentive Pay
Officers are eligible for incentive pay for education and team participation.
Education:
Associates degree - $75/month
Bachelor’s degree - $150/month
Masters degree - $225/month
Advanced Licenses:
Intermediate - $75/month
Advanced - $150/month
Master - $225/month
