Job Summary/Basic Function:
To enforce the law, provide service, information and aid to all citizens as circumstances require, prevent crime, suppress disturbances, investigate criminal offenses, and arrest offenders. Responsible for enforcement duties for the protection, safety and welfare of students, employees, visitors, and all property within the area under the control and jurisdiction of Texas A&M University-San Antonio, including primary jurisdiction in all counties where the Texas A&M System has real property interest and secondary jurisdiction in all other Texas counties. Exercises independent judgment within the limits prescribed by law, institutional rules and regulations and departmental policies and procedures.
Shift work; must be able to work various shifts and days off to include holidays.

Texas A&M University-San Antonio (TAMU-SA) is a new comprehensive university in the established Texas A&M University System serving students from a culturally diverse and largely non-traditional population. The university was created to address the educational needs in South San Antonio and surrounding areas. The current enrollment is approximately 5,500.
