POLICE OFFICER SUPERVISOR

Baltimore City Community College

 

Position:  Police Officer Supervisor 

 

General Description: The incumbent in this position is at the supervisory level of law enforcement at a state facility. Under the general supervision of the Police Chief and/or Deputy Chief, the Police Officer Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of Police Officers and other Security personnel. Employees may be subject to call in duty during emergencies and staffing shortages and may work on a rotating shift, including holidays and weekends. The Police Officer Supervisor may be required to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.

 

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or 60 credit equivalent.

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Law Enforcement.

  • Must have certification from the Maryland Police and Corrections Training Commission.

  • Complete an authorized Maryland Police Department's Training Academy.

  • Currently employed at an authorized Maryland Police Department; or have been out no longer than 3 years. 

  • Posses a valid state of Maryland driver's license.

  • Successfully complete a background investigation.

 

        Police SWAT Team                    Criminal Investigators

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts investigations of incidents reported on the shift.

  • Assist the Police Chief and/or Deputy Chief in the management and maintenance of the department's inventory of evidence.

  • Interacts with the College community and establishes rapport with the public.

  • Provides the College community with safety information as needed.

  • Conducts community related public safety programs.

  • Collaborates with local and state law enforcement agencies when needed.

  • Ensures the preparation and completion of a variety of reports and forms are accurate to support public safety at the College.

  • Directs traffic and assists with traffic and crowd control.

  • Develop and maintain procedures to govern traffic and parking on BCCC campuses.

Salary: 

The salary for this full-time position is $47,508.
