Position Requirements:
High School Diploma or successful completion of GED.
Military Service with an Honorable Discharge as
stipulated on a DD-214 (if military service applies).
Due to the physically demanding, critical, and sensitive
nature of this position, the following minimum
qualifications are required: Must be at least 21
years of age, Must have a valid State drivers
license, Must not have been convicted of any felony or
have any record of court-ordered community supervision
or probation for a criminal offense within the last ten
years, and must not be currently under indictment for
any criminal offense. Also, you must never have been
convicted of any domestic violence offense that
precludes authority to possess a firearm, or otherwise
be prohibited by any existing state or federal statute
from possessing firearms or ammunition.
All Federal Reserve Protection Officers must pass a
fitness-for-duty physical examination, background check,
and drug screen. Must be able to demonstrate effective
physical strength, stamina, agility, and balance to
employ physical control techniques to restrain and
detain uncooperative and resistant subjects and defend
self and others from physical assaults. Must be able to
perform the physically demanding responsibilities of the
position, including but not limited to: regularly
standing, walking, or climbing several flights of
stairs; sitting at an observation post, occasionally
required to run, climb, crouch, or crawl; ability to
frequently lift 25 to 50 lbs with occasional lifting of
100 lbs or more; exposure to weather conditions, moving
mechanical parts, or acts of violence; Reasonable
accommodations may be made to enable individuals with
disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Demonstrate ability to maintain composure and perform
reliably under pressure, to understand and carry out
complex oral and written instruction, and demonstrate
effective oral/written communication skills.
Demonstrated good judgment, interpersonal, and customer
service skills, and the ability to maintain the
confidentiality of highly sensitive information. This is
a 24/7 operation and all FRB Police Officers must be
able to work on any shift, and work overtime as needed.
Local candidates preferred, no relocation assistance
provided.
Essential Job Functions:
Responsibilities
will include:
Adhering to System, District and Department Police
Services policies and procedures.
Understanding and applying safety procedures and
policies as outlined in the Department Safety Manual.
Protecting and providing basic emergency medical/rescue
services to all staff, tenants, customers, and visitors
while on the premises as required by the System,
District, and Branch policies and procedures.
Screening all incoming personnel for appropriate
entrance authorization. Providing directions or
information when necessary and contacting proper staff
upon arrival of visitors, contractors and customers.
Verifying identification of persons entering beyond the
Bank’s public accessible areas. Determining appropriate
ID badge levels, issuing and controlling access levels
using the building security system computer. Maintaining
entrance/exit logs and property removal logs. Escorting
visitors and other non-staff within restricted areas.
Controlling persons and vehicles entering or leaving the
security court and parking lot through direct
observation and/or personal contact. Ensuring all
vehicular traffic entering the security court is free of
hazards to staff before granting access.
Monitoring the movement of all personnel on premises to
control restricted and sensitive area access both
directly and through the use of surveillance cameras and
card access devices.
Assisting in the daily operation of the security camera
system.
Driving Bank automobiles to transport Bank personnel and
guests as required.
Administering control room functions to include
monitoring cameras, answering telephones, and utilizing
radio system to exchange information and dispatch FRLEO
personnel as needed.
Demonstrate a broad knowledge of all applicable policies
and procedures as established by the District Police
Services policy manual.
Obtain and maintain current certification in First Aid
and CPR techniques.
Demonstrate knowledge of emergency response procedures
for fire, earthquake and other disasters.
Demonstrate the ability to operate security systems
software.
Demonstrate the ability to operate the following
equipment when appropriate:
Emergency rescue equipment
Emergency medical equipment
Firefighting equipment
Post access consoles
Portable/base radios
