Starting Pay $43,722

General Requirements

A) At time of appointment, possess either an Associate Degree or 60-semester or 90-quarter hours (100 level courses or above) from an accredited college or university.
OR
B) Possess a High School Diploma or GED AND A MINIMUM OF ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

2 years of active-duty or 4 years reserve U.S. Military service under honorable conditions,
OR
2 years of continuous service working in law enforcement agencies (including 911-dispatchers) within the State of Oregon,
OR
2 years of service as a reserve police officer (after initial training and with a minimum of 500 hours of service rendered)
OR
2 years service as a Portland Police Bureau cadet (after initial training, minimum of 500 hours of service, and meeting the minimum age requirement of 21 years at the time of appointment)
OR
2 years of continuous service in another police agency as a sworn police officer for a recognized state, county or city (municipal) entity.
